It’s time for another installment of our Meet the Team Monday feature. Today we are featuring Kim! Let’s get to know more about her now.
Basic Bio:
My name is Kim. I’m a SAHM to my 4 wonderful (if exhausting) kids – Zach is 9, Josh is 7, Madison is 3, and Naomi is 17 months. We live in a small town south of Dallas, Texas. I teach preschool two days a week at our church’s mother’s day out. And I spend a lot of time running my kids back and forth between activities – school, scouts, sports, church…the list doesn’t end!
How long have you been on the Blue Heart Scraps CT?
Wow! I had to go back through emails to try and figure that out. I think since the end of May last year.
Tell us about your scrapping experience: Did you ever paper scrap? When did you start digi-scrapping? How did you get started?
I started paper scrapping when my first son was born and with each kid, their books got further and further behind and finding time to drag out all the supplies to scrap just never seemed to happen. Then in December of 2010 I was playing around on the internet and discovered Scrapbook-Bytes. I downloaded Photoshop Elements that evening and haven’t looked back! I’m caught up on the kids books, I’m finding time to scrap faithbook and just journaling pages for myself, and I just started scanning and sorting through 6 boxes of pictures my mom has collected from her childhood and mine. I’m so excited at the idea of getting to scrap those heritage LOs!
What program do you use?
I still use Elements. Every once in a while I consider upgrading to full photoshop, but there is still new things to hear in Elements every day so I’m sticking with it for now!
Can you share a tip or a piece of advice for your fellow digi scrappers out there?
Don’t ever forget the goal of scrapbooking is to record memories so journal and take pictures of those little every day moments that your kids are going to love to see when they are all grown up! And the best tip I can give is to learn your program. There are so many fun and creative things you can do with your photos, but you have to learn your program first so read tutorials, take a class, and spend some time just playing around.
Tell us something different about you:
Because of my father’s job, I spent most of my childhood in Europe. 3 years in Italy and 7 years in Germany. We came back to the states the summer before my senior year of high school. So I haven’t seen a lot of the states and I make it a goal to get to one new area of the country each year – even if it’s just for a couple of days when I go with my hubby while he’s traveling for work.
What is your favorite layout you’ve made using Blue Heart Scraps products?
