The school year looks VERY different in my house this year. Our oldest son graduated high school last year and has chosen to take some time off from learning (he did dual enrollment throughout high school, so it’s understandable). He’s working a good bit, but he’s still home a lot during the week.
The youngest is a junior this year and is also doing dual enrollment. Since heās already completed most of his high school credits (with the remaining few covered by college courses), he only needs to take college classes from now on.. Two of this semester’s classes are online, so he only has to physically be in class twice a week, Mon and Wed, for just about an hour and a half a day. That means the long, quiet, peaceful days of being home alone while the boys are in school are over…and I’m not managing that very well!
I used to rely on those kid-free hours to get my work done. Now, instead of being productive, weāre binge-watching Big Brother, playing with the cats, and I hear āIām hungryā about fifteen times a day. Suddenly, itās Friday, and I have no idea how we got here with so little accomplished!
Some of my fondest memories while they were young was back to school shopping and school day pictures. The backpacks, the crayons, the tons of smiling faces in my phone’s camera roll. I loved it! *sigh* These late teen years are great, but boy do I miss the little boy years, too ā¤ļø Those memories, and scrolling back through years of First Day of School photos on Facebook was the inspiration for this week’s new release: Bright Idea

I give you 6 sets of lyric lines from songs that have been repeating on my Spotify playlist lately, and you create a new layout inspired by one set of those songs. Easy, right?

I chose lyrics from the song Up All Night by James Bay, The Lumineers and Noah Kahan (it’s one of the provided lyric sets) Though my page has a rather emotional punch to it, get those feelings and thoughts out did a world of good for healing! <3
