It’s hard to believe we’re already halfway through the year! Summer is in full swing around here, and it’s certainly not slowing any of us down. My youngest finished his summer baseball league play last week and has a month or so break before it’s time to think fall league play. My oldest has his first job (working in the bakery department at a local Publix), and I spend tons of time each week working in the garden, or prepping/fixing/canning its bountiful rewards. All of that leads to another thing that has not slowed down this summer: LAUNDRY!

Happy Tuesday! It’s hard to believe the month is over half over with. I would comment on the fact that yesterday was the first day of spring…but considering it’s still well below freezing in the mornings around here, it’s not feeling overly “springy”. The boys and I started the yearly garden clean up last week, though, in preparation for this year. Now we just need the weather to warm up, just a tad (so, above freezing, lol), and we can get some fantastic tomatoes and peppers and potatoes and other fabulous plants in the dirt and growing! These blog posts are difficult to write most days. The idea of bragging about something I’ve created, begging for you to love it as much as I do? It’s hard for me. Happy New Year…only about a week or so late. 🤷♀️ But, it’s ok! One of my biggest goals this year (the term ‘resolutions’ seems too strict, too narrow a path — I like to make goals for the year, and break them down into small sections, so even if I don’t complete the BIG goal, I can celebrate the small victories I do complete. Or, that’s the plan at least, lol) is to give myself more grace and patience. Allow myself to live “in the moment” a bit more, and not be so gosh-darn stressed out! And so far, so good! The kids were home the first 3 days, my husband the first 8…which meant LOTS of family time spent at home, in our comfort zone, doing what we enjoy most…spending quality time together! LOTS of boardgames and LOTS of laughs. It was perfect!
