While browsing through the gallery at GingerScraps I came upon this adorable layout by Zanthia. I am not sure what caught my eye the most, the big juicy watermelon which I have been craving and anticipating the day it arrives at the grocery store, or the baby who is trying to that big juicy watermelon. I love how she extended one photo into three different photo boxes and the bright colors she used to highlight the photo. When I went to take the kids to school this morning I could smell spring in the air. Also in the past week I have noticed chirping birds again. I can’t believe that spring is finally on it’s way! So with spring in the air you would think I would have found a beautiful springy layout to share this week, but no, you would be wrong. The layout that caught my eye this week in the Blue Heart Scraps Gallery at Brownie Scraps was titled “Autumn Beauty” by tinkay2.

I just love what she did with this template, using the boxes as matting for one main picture instead of six different pictures. I also love the flowers peaking out behind the photo. Just beautiful. The template she used for this layout is Rewind Vol. 2.

Todays spotlight is titled “Memories” and was created by krystlbear. I love how she used the same photo twice. I love the effect of the neutral large picture in the background. She did a fabulous job using different sized rectangles, squares and circles to mat her photo. This is definitely being added to my scraplift list! Beautiful job!

I can’t believe it is already the last day of the month. It amazes me how February always just flies by, even though are only three days less then January. It’s also Thursday and time for another layout spotlight. This particular layout is by Nonna2Dreja and can be found in the Blue Heart Scraps Gallery at Brownie Scraps. I loved how she ripped the photo at an angle and then matted it on the brown with the journaling taking up the other half of the mat. I also love the bold colors. This layout is definitely going on my list of layouts to scrap-lift. Awesome job!

Big day at our house today, my 2nd oldest officially became a teenager. I wish I could just make her stay little forever, but I don’t think that’s possible. Unfortunately my little girl has to grow up, and it is happening way too fast.

Looking through the Blue Heart Scraps Gallery at Gingerscraps I came across this layout by Mandy and I immediately fell in love with it. I love how it captures her son’s moment in the rain. The dark background really makes the pictures and elements pop off the page.

It’s customer appreciation weekend at Brownie Scraps, and we are all about spreading the love!  There’s a fun forum game that allows 3 lucky players a $5 gift card to a designer’s store, a fantastic sale going on through Sunday, and a “Loving Inspiration” Blog Hop!  This blog hop is a bit different than normal, though.  This hop is all about showing our appreciation for you, the fabulous fans and scrappers who help guide us along this designing journey (I still have a freebie at the bottom, though, so don’t run off!).  I know, for me, the best part of being a designer is seeing my products put to use – watching you document your memories with my work.  So, that’s what we’re focusing on with this blog hop today – your gorgeous layouts!  🙂

Today’s lovely spotlight layout was created by Jessica.  The colors she chose are fantastic!  The solid grey paper does a wonderful job of highlighting the colors in the pictures, while the arrow and chevron background papers add a vibrant extra punch to the layout.  The stitching is fabulous, but it’s the journaling that really draws me in.  I’m sure most stay at home mommies have felt the guilt, at times, of being labeled ‘just’ a mom (I know I sure have!).  It’s easy to lose yourself in the daily shuffle of cleaning and cooking laundry, and forget how valuable your job truly is!  It may not pay much (the kisses to dollars exchange rate should really be raised!), but Jessica’s right – being a mommy is the best job anyone could ask for!
