September 1st already, can you believe it? The month of August was ridiculously busy in my house. Between school starting (the boys’, with my oldest in 2nd and my youngest starting Kindergarten, and my own) and football season beginning (2 boys means 2 practice/game schedules, which means 2 times the crazy, busy fun), I often felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off!
There’s been lots of work happening behind the scenes, design-wise, as well. I have new releases in the works, and lots of fun and interaction planned for both here on the blog and on the Facebook fan page. I’ve enjoyed the little break I took earlier this year, but I’ve also missed the creative outlet I gain, and the sanity I take, from the digital scrapbooking world – and it’s time I became a bit more active in it again, so be on the lookout! 🙂

It’s been a while since I’ve had a new release post. For that matter, it’s been a while since I really had a new release. So while it feels a tiny bit scary to be posting again, it’s exciting because I have lots of wonderful goodies to share with you! 🙂

Layout Spotlight & Other Goodies
It has been awhile since the last layout spotlight and since then there have been some adorable layouts posted in the gallery. The layout I want to spotlight today is “Owl Love U” by vwesley. Such sweet photos. I love how the photos are in circles and how the large photo is not centered in the larger circle mat. The elements in the bottom right corner really add to the page and the shadowing pops the clustering right off the page. Beautiful work!
The kit she used for this layout is “Whoo Loves You” by Blue Heart Scraps and it happens to be the Daily Download over at GingerScraps blog. The month is half over but it is not to late to pick up many of the pieces for this kit for free.

Layout Spotlight for May 16th
I was looking through the gallery I came across this adorable layout by trina513 titled Bathtime. I absolutely love photos of babies taking baths.
Two different Blue Heart Scraps products were used to complete this layout. The kit she used was Lemonade which was just released a few weeks ago. I love how she was able to take a kit completely unrelated to the theme of Lemonade and make it her own. Kits can be so versatile.
The second product she used was a template called The Splits.

Layout Spotlight for May 2nd
I opened up the gallery and my eyes immediately caught this adorable layout by swastinadia titled “Rain Lovers”.
I love the big photo (those matching dresses are adorable) and how she blended it into the lined paper. The raindrops really add to the effect of the pouring rain. Beautiful job!

Layout Spotlight April 25th and coupon!
It’s that time of year when I start thinking about what I will plant in my garden (that is if spring would finally arrive so my plants won’t freeze!). Our staples every year are tomatoes (our favorites are Grape and Juliette), cucumbers and green peppers. Last year we tried tomatillos for the first time and I was able to make some fun dishes with that.
In my excitement to start my garden soon, I decided to spotlight a layout that is all about planting. This layout was created by dotcomkari and it is titled “Bianca.. Bianca..How Does your Garden Grow?” I love how she layered the title with the ric rac, and love all the journaling she added to tell her story.
