Tuesday Treats, Freebie & Spooky Sale!

My husband and I took the books to Lyon Family Farm this weekend with some friends and boy did they have fun!  The animals to pet, the pig races to laugh at, the toys to play on and bouncy houses to enjoy – plus corn cob shooting, cow train, hay ride and pumpkin picking.  Ok, so maybe Kyle and I had just as much fun as the boys did!  🙂

Hopefully in a day or so, we’ll get our pumpkins carved (the husband’s been working a fair amount of overtime hours lately, and he’s FAR better at carving pumpkins than I am!) and be just about prepared for the sugar-fueled awesomeness of Halloween!  🙂

Layout Spotlight: gotta run!

The first time I saw this layout I loved it. I knew I had to spotlight it.

grrr! by Lisa is a totally awesome page which focuses on the words more than the photos. I absolutely love how she inserted the word strips and bits throughout the writing. Despite the focus on the writing, I do love her fun grrr! photos in the bottom left. They fit the flow and expression of the page.

Wednesday Sneak Peek & Chance To Win! :)

Tuesday Treats Freebie!

Oh what a day it’s been!  The mornings have been chilly around here lately, as the weather finally begins to enter the fall season.  That means I spend the nights curled up like a burrito in the covers and whine each morning when the alarm clock goes off.  Some mornings are worse than others…and this morning was one of them.  I left the warmth of my bed and curled up on the couch under the mink blanket and enjoyed the same toasty warmth on the living room couch.  Of course, I also fell asleep and didn’t wake up until after school had started.  That means Tyler was 50 minutes late checking into his classroom, and I missed my first class this morning because we were starting the day nearly an hour late.  Oops!  :/

I hope your day has gone much better than mine so far.  But, if not, remember to keep your head up and keep pushing forward.  Life isn’t always easy, but it is worth the struggle.  That was the theme behind my latest release, Stay Strong (which I LOVE!).  And today’s freebie is a stacked paper created using Stay Strong:

Stay Strong & Sneak Peek Winner!

It’s been an incredibly rough few weeks (ok, maybe months) for my family.  It seems like we just manage to get over one painful hump in the road when we’re bracing for the next one.  We’ve had our strength and fight tested over and over again, and we’re trying so very hard to keep going, to keep fighting, to stay strong.  But it’s hard.  So very hard.  Friends and family have helped greatly, though.  Knowing that we’re not alone, that we have support and strength we can gain from others in our time of struggle helps.

Holding onto the pain and the fear sometimes feels like our only hope, because it feels like that pain is all we have left.  But that’s not true.  Whatever it is, you can get through it. Fight, don’t give up. It’s always worth the struggle. Sometimes you just need to have a good cry, let the tears fall and get back up. Stay strong. For those moments when you feel like you can’t catch a break, just remember, there is catharsis in the scrapping.

It’s Thursday, and that means another layout to spotlight. I was perusing the gallery all morning and kept coming back to this simple, lovely page.

I absolutely love how she stacked up the stitching as a border around her center papers. I’m definitely scraplifting that.  The clustering around the frame is fantastic and I really like her title work.

Wednesday Sneak Peek & Chance To Win! :)

Good morning, lovelies! 🙂  Though it’s only Wednesday, my week is essentially over already.  It’s Fall Break at the college I attend, which means I get a few days off from classes, yah!  Speaking of classes, several of you were so super sweet to wish me luck on an exam I took last Thursday.  I’m happy to announce I made a 93 on the test – the second highest in the class (though, yes, I honestly feared the spelling of my name would be the only thing I actually got right!).  That certainly put a smile on my face yesterday!  And, I’m giving all the credit to you sweet people…so expect me to mention every test I have the rest of the semester, so that you can wish me luck again, and ensure another awesome grade, ok?  😀

Meet the Team Monday: Shelly!

The Basics: Hi i’m Shelly. Wife to my wonderful Hubby Dayton and mom to 4 wonderful kids with a lady bug on the way. My kids are Dayson 8 , Ean 5, Teslie , and Jayce 21 months. We live in NE Utah. I’ve been digi scrapping for 18 months.

What is your favorite layout using Blue Heart Scraps?Image

What is your scrapping history? I started paper scrapping when I was in High School 13+ years ago, off and on. I really got into it when I had my kids. I started Digi Scrapping Spring 2011 because i was tired of sharing my scrapping supplies with my kids. They always wanted to play with my stuff and I never got anything done. I thought for sure I would go back when my kids are older. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to paper scrapping!

What program/tools do you use? I use PSE 9

What is the one thing you swear by? A tip or trick or element in every layout, anything that is a must to know or have or both! My newest go to trick is add a stroke around my photos. I love the way it looks.

Tell us something fun different quirky, maybe even a little secret, about you. I can’t wait for events. I’m horrible. I have 2 kids whose birthdays are in one weekend. I so wanted to give them their presents. I just can’t wait for the excitement when I got the perfect thing. The same goes for anytime I get to get or receive presents or do something fun. I’m horrible at Christmas. I actually can’t start shopping too early, Christmas gets very expensive because I always find one more thing to add that they will love.

This was my 30th birthday just last month (September). The reason I chose this photo is because it shows the thing that means the most to me: My family. 3 of my kids and my little brother are in this photo. I was in total heaven being surrounded by my family for my birthday.
