Good morning, lovelies! šŸ™‚Ā  Though it’s only Wednesday, my week is essentially over already.Ā  It’s Fall Break at the college I attend, which means I get a few days off from classes, yah!Ā  Speaking of classes, several of you were so super sweet to wish me luck on an exam I took last Thursday.Ā  I’m happy to announce I made a 93 on the test – the second highest in the class (though, yes, I honestly feared the spelling of my name would be the only thing I actually got right!).Ā  That certainly put a smile on my face yesterday!Ā  And, I’m giving all the credit to you sweet people…so expect me to mention every test I have the rest of the semester, so that you can wish me luck again, and ensure another awesome grade, ok?Ā  šŸ˜€

Meet the Team Monday: Shelly!

The Basics: Hi i’m Shelly. Wife to my wonderful Hubby Dayton and mom to 4 wonderful kids with a lady bug on the way. My kids are Dayson 8 , Ean 5, Teslie , and Jayce 21 months. We live in NE Utah. I’ve been digi scrapping for 18 months.

What is your favorite layout using Blue Heart Scraps?Image

What is your scrapping history? I started paper scrapping when I was in High School 13+ years ago, off and on. I really got into it when I had my kids. I started Digi Scrapping Spring 2011 because i was tired of sharing my scrapping supplies with my kids. They always wanted to play with my stuff and I never got anything done. I thought for sure I would go back when my kids are older. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to paper scrapping!

What program/tools do you use? I use PSE 9

What is the one thing you swear by? A tip or trick or element in every layout, anything that is a must to know or have or both! My newest go to trick is add a stroke around my photos. I love the way it looks.

Tell us something fun different quirky, maybe even a little secret, about you.Ā I can’t wait for events. I’m horrible. I have 2 kids whose birthdays are in one weekend. I so wanted to give them their presents. I just can’t wait for the excitement when I got the perfect thing. The same goes for anytime I get to get or receive presents or do something fun. I’m horrible at Christmas. I actually can’t start shopping too early, Christmas gets very expensive because I always find one more thing to add that they will love.

This was my 30th birthday just last month (September). The reason I chose this photo is because it shows the thing that means the most to me: My family. 3 of my kids and my little brother are in this photo. I was in total heaven being surrounded by my family for my birthday.

Layout Spotlight!

Hello!

I’ve been looking through Blue Heart Scraps’ Gallery all morning, and I LOVE all the layouts. It’s always hard to chose, but I found one that jumped out at me. I love the kit, the template (both, naturally, by our favorite designer of course šŸ˜‰ ), the clustering work done by our scrapper- it’s all so lovely!

I like the clustering around the bottom of the photo and I LOVE the paint splatter behind the photo. I really like her journaling in the bottom left corner as well. The kit, Showing Thanks, is one of my favorites (and I know I’m not the only one!)!

Midterm exams start in my college courses this week, which just feels surreal. Layout Spotlight: September Template Challenge

We had three lovely layouts submitted for our September Template Challenge, that I want to share them all! Joy Lynn created this template for use: I do love seeing how the template was used as is AND how it was flipped! I think it shows the true versatility of templates when you can manipulate them to suite your needs.

First up, and our $3 Gift Certificate winner!Ā is Tina with her page: Splashing Around!

She used Blue Heart Scraps Carefree Days. I love this page, her edited photo and her corner cluster! I also love how she flipped the template! Great page Tina!

Next we have a page by Amy: 12th Anniversary

Amy used one of Blue Heart Scraps newest kits, Your Story Begins. I positively love her journaling down the right side of the template. I also really like her title work under the big photo.

Last, but not least, a page by Shelly: First Day of School.

I REALLY love her chalky title font! I like that all the different banner pieces are different too, and how she used the push pins to ‘hold’ the bottom piece with the title work. Shelly used Make the Grade by Blue Heart Scraps. A kit I am seriously hanging on to for the next coupleĀ years until my son starts school. I love itĀ that much!
