Carefree Days!

Oh what a busy week it’s been.  My Kindergartener has been out on Spring Break this week, so we’ve spent a lot of time outdoors.  Some of it was playing and having fun, some of it was creating our first little vegetable garden (and hoping that at least something grows in it, lol).  I don’t have the best history of keeping plants alive, but I love the look of our little garden area, and can’t wait to see what comes of it! 🙂

I have one new release for you today.  Technically it’s a revamped release – I but this kit out last year, but I’ve learned and improved so much since then.  I cleaned up the quality, redid a few elements to improve on their awesomeness, and am excited to show it to you again!

Meet the Team Monday – Michelle and a New Sale

It’s time to meet another of the great Blue Heart Scraps CT Members – Michelle! Let’s see what she had to tell us!

Basic Bio:

I am Michelle, Dave is my husband,and we’ve been married since April 2002. We’ve produced 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl so far! Priscilla is 5½ & Luke is 3½. I was born and raised in Texas, but currently reside in Tennessee.

We also have 1 pup, a Siberian Husky, Zoe, she is 1 year old and an old, grouchy, loud mouth, cat, Yoko, lol who is 8.

I am a SAHM for the past 2 years, but before this adventure, I worked full-time at a Veterinary Clinic in accounting for 8 years.

How long have you been on the Blue Heart Scraps CT?
I joined BHS, February 2012 and I’ve loved ever minute of it!

What is your favorite layout you’ve made using Blue Heart Scraps products?

I really love the “simplicity” of this one. The muted colors and array of elements were pleasant to work with.

Tell us about your scrapping experience: Did you ever paper scrap? When did you start digi-scrapping? How did you get started?

I dabbled shortly in paper scrapping when introduced by my best friend after I had my daughter. I tried to keep up, but just couldnt find the time or space to bring everything out and put it back up. As my daughter got older, it because even more difficult, so I have about 4 drawers of paper scrap material/sticker/etc that are used for crafting :) I started digi scrapping back in 2010. I ran across a site that custom fit to Disney World, and since we have been every year since 2002 as vacation, I have a LOT of pictures… so I started doing the monthly challenges and from there branches out to Ginger Scraps and have been creating ever since!

What program do you use?
I have been using Photoshop CS since 2002

Can you share a tip or a piece of advice for your fellow digi scrappers out there?
I personally can not scrap a great layout without LOVING the subject in which I am scrapping. If you do not completely love and dedicate your scrap to the subject/kit at hand, it will possibly show in your layout. Scrap what you Love, and you will always be proud of your work!

Tell us something different about you:

I really don’t like to talk about myself :? The only interesting thing about me would be that I am a Disney World addict. LOL. I’m just not that interesting!! :laughing:

What is your favorite Blue Heart Scraps kit?
That’s so tough! She does such great work. If I had to choose one, it would be Sweet Tooth. I have SUCH a love for everything sugary! LOL

New Release – Black Stitched Alpha

Just one small new release from me this week.  I’m still trying desperately to get everything added back to my computer (programs, files, etc).  Seems every day I go to perform a task that seems second nature only to realize, ‘dang it! I don’t have that program on my computer, yet!’  So frustrating!  I have been hard at work, though.  I’ve got a new release packed and just about ready for next Friday – plus the start of April happens next Sunday (for real?! where did the time go?!), and that means new monthly Bake Sale, just monthly Buffet, and I’ve got quite a few super adorable goodies I’m just itching to show you!  🙂

Tuesday Treats Freebie Time!

Happy Tuesday morning, and Happy First Day of Spring!  Hope the weather is beautiful where you are.  We’ve been experiencing warmer than normal temperatures here, with tons of sun and little voices just screaming to go play outside.  And, we have been playing outside.  A lot.  It’s good, too, since the boys started T-ball practice last week (oh! the! cuteness!).  It certainly means we’ve been making lots of wonderful, happy memories lately – and I couldn’t be more thankful for that!

Today’s freebie fits in well with the happy memories my family has been making lately.  It’s a reminder that those happy times we enjoy today will be the memories we look back on tomorrow and smile about.  🙂

Meet the Team Monday – Meet Crystal and a sale!

Tell us alittle about yourself:

My name is Crystal, but you’ll see my around the digi world as krystlbear. No, I don’t spell my name with a “k”, it’s just part of my digi name. I married my husband Jerry in June of 2010 after being together for 5.5 years. We have a 5 year old son together and then I also have a step-daughter. I’m a homemaker/SAHM, and I have an applied Associate’s Degree in Accounting Technology and Office Systems.


How long have you been on the Blue Heart Scraps CT?

I have been part of the Blue Heart Scraps CT since June of 2011.

Tell us about your scrapping experience: Did you ever paper scrap? When did you start digi-scrapping? How did you get started?

I had never really thought about scrapbooking before. Then in September 2010 after our wedding I was browsing CafeMom and found a group for digital scrapbooking. So I joined the group and began scrapbooking. I had downloaded a free program called paint.net to use. Then I found a free trial for PSE9 and tried that and I loved it. Then in December I bought the full version of PSE9 and have been using it ever since.

What program do you use?

I use PSE9.

Can you share a tip or a piece of advice for your fellow digi scrappers out there?

Use your drop shadows. When I first started digi scrapping, I wasn’t using any shadows then someone gave me the tip and it made some very impressive changes to my scrapping.

Tell us something different about you:

I’m addicted to chap stick. :)

Tuesday Treats Freebie Time!

It’s Tuesday again?  Already?!  It feels like the weeks just fly by these days.  I know the old saying goes “time flies when you’re having fun”, but honestly?  I think it flies all the time, whether you’re having fun or not (and some of the things I’ve been doing this past week – like school work and house work, yeah, not so fun, lol).
